Can someone recommend me a good new Batman or Spider-Man story? I'm currently just reading HellBoy stuff on and off, but I'd like to get back to both of those characters. Also, Spider-Man wise, I'm not a fan of Civil War and I'm eeh about Brand New Day.

Off the top of my Head: Batman: The Killing Joke, Arkham Asylum: a Serious Home on Serious Earth Batman: The Dark Knight Returns and a bunch more... There are a lot of Good Batman Comics

`For Batman, I'd say The Dark Knight Returns, and Batman: Hush
For Spider-Man, I'd go with Kravens' Last Hunt, and The Death of Gwen Stacy

`It's not new but I have to agree with Dark Knight Returns because it's a must read if you love Batman.

Quite partial to spider-man the eveil that men do...mainly cus i love kevin smith tho..
whose run on daredevil was also quite good..

`All Star Batman and Robin... or Batman Hush if you prefer more mainstream Batman.

`Dark Knight returns is classic. You can't say you're into comics and have never read it. If you like All Star Batman you'll like Dark Knight Returns. As for Spider-Man, my personal favorite is Kraven's Last Hunt. Probably because I was born in the 80's and I love the black costume. Plus, I always liked Kraven. This tale is his best. If you want to see something newer I recommend Evolve or Die. It is a great story and brings some interesting changes to the character. Unfortunatly, these changes get erased by the One More Day story line.

`For Batman, the court of owls is a good read, also death in the family, the later gets very dark, it's amazing.
For Spider-Man, Spider Island, Death of Spider-Man, the one where spectacular Spider-Man meets ultimate Spider-Man, Miles Morals (can't remember what it's called)
